Ranjan Incense Industries was established 1988 by a woman entrepreneur Mrs. Ranjanben Gunvantlal Shah. She is B.Sc. In chemistry and has taken a training at Khadi Gramudhyog Board, Gandhinagar. She scored 78 % marks in examination of Agarbathi. These marks cover both practical as well as theory.

The major raw materials used in the Agarbathi Industries are Bamboo, Wood, charcoal and processed perfumes. Essentially Agarbathi requires the stick based on a paste of Jiget powder (an adhesive - like substance made from powder bark of kaclitus makarantha tree) Charcoal powder, and a series of natural products in various combination, to provide the fragrance.

Agarbathi (Incense Sticks) is a part and parcel of the traditional Hindu Practice of offering prayers in Temples and other holy places to worship GOD / GODDESS. But in these present days these sticks are also used in some business places and public functions and other social occasion as air fresheners or mosquito repellents. The demand of Agarbathi is increasing both in domestic and export markets because of the quality and increased range of products and exclusive packing. India is the largest producer of Agarbathies in the world.
